Taiwan, an island of 23 million inhabitants off the coast of China, has a lot to offer international students. Study in English
With 153 higher education institutions, Taiwan offers international students a high level of education and many undergraduate and graduate programs are taught in English. Also, if you’re looking to boost your resume by adding a second language, it’s also a great opportunity to learn Mandarin.
Good healthcare system
Taiwan has a good medical system and many of the doctors and nurses have trained overseas and speak English. It’s mandatory for locals to be enrolled on the National Healthcare Insurance program, and all visitors and international students who stay longer than six months also need to enroll.

Safety and standard of Living
Taiwan enjoys a low crime rate, and a high standard of living, with great food, a whole range of comfortable accommodation, a great transportation system and fast internet. Also, the cost of living is very affordable, for example a meal for two in a mid-range restaurant costs around $20.
Friendly people
Taiwanese people are friendly, love to make friends and are always eager to help. Stand by the side of a street with a map in your hand looking lost, and someone will come up to you and try to help you. They are warm, honest people and like to have fun.
